ADVENTURE
Even After Titan Submarine Disaster,
Interest In Extreme Adventure Rises.

Paradise Calling Content Break

Oceangate Titan

Surprisingly, the founder of a luxury travel company reveals that the Titan disaster hasn't scared off wealthy customers from seeking out extreme travel experiences.

On the contrary, it seems to have piqued their curiosity even more, drawing them towards these daring and exclusive adventures.

People have got in touch recently as a result of this tragedy, not specifically about Titanic, but about other things,
Philippe Brown, the founder of Brown and Hudson, told Insider.
Tragedies sometimes generate interest in other areas of extreme travel.

Around last week - The recent underwater expedition involving a submersible called Titan, which aimed to explore the wreck of the Titanic.

  • However, In a devastating turn of events, the Titan's submersible abruptly lost contact with its mothership within a mere two hours of embarking on its journey on June 18.

  • According to the US Coast Guard, the submersible is believed to have imploded, resulting in the tragic loss of all 5 crew members.

You’d think that this incident would deter all interest in extreme adventure, nope,

Going Deeper - Social media research tell us that adventure tourists often emphasize the heights they have climbed or the distances they have covered,
The bragging rights behind this are important. says Dr. Adele Doran of Sheffield Hallam University.

Engaging in expeditions, extreme sports, and trekking has transformed into a status symbol for the world's affluent population.

Brown said Beyond a certain point of wealth, you are not interested in another flashy car or the latest iPhone, & that adding material objects only have a short-term impact compared to experiences like adventure travel.

Stuff tends to have less value and you don't need to show off quite as much because you know that you are worth a billion, so you don't need to display your wealth. It's just part of you.
