Paradise Calling Content Break

Hamas militants fired rockets from Gaza into Israel on Saturday, causing hundreds of deaths and injuring thousands, as reported by Israeli authorities. The Israeli Defense Forces announced a "state of alert for war" in response. Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department is urging caution for travelers to Israel and the West Bank due to concerns about terrorism and civil unrest. They've also issued a "do not travel" advisory for Gaza. Stay safe if you're in the region!

Which airlines have cancelled flights?

Major U.S. airlines

Like American Airlines has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv through Friday, As of Monday afternoon, all major U.S. airlines and a number of foreign carriers had suspended service to and from Israel.

American Airlines has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv through Friday,

Delta Air Lines suspended flights to & from Tel Aviv until the end of Oct

United Airlines said Sunday its flights to and from Tel Aviv "will remain suspended until conditions allow them to resume."

Air Canada has cancelled a number of flights to and from Tel Aviv through Friday.

European airlines
  • Air France: No flights to Tel Aviv until further notice.

  • Wizz Air: No Israel flights until Monday.

  • EasyJet: Tel Aviv flights canceled until Tuesday.

  • KLM & Ryanair: No Tel Aviv flights until Wednesday.

  • ITA: Tel Aviv flights on hold until Thursday.

  • Lufthansa: No Tel Aviv flights until Saturday.

  • Norwegian Air: Tel Aviv flights off until Sunday.

  • TAP: Tel Aviv flights suspended, no return date set.

Middle East and Asia

Etihad canceled flights to Israel through Tuesday, saying the airline is "monitoring the situation in Israel and continues to maintain close contact with authorities."

Cathay Pacific canceled its flights between Hong Kong and Tel Aviv through Thursday.

Gulf Air said it canceled flights to Tel Aviv until Saturday.

Airlines still flying to and from Israel..

  1. Virgin Atlantic stopped some flights to Israel, still flies to London.

  2. British Airways changed schedules, lets travelers adjust plans via a flexible booking policy

  3. Air Malta and Hainan Airlines adjust flights as needed.

  4. El Al continues to fly to and from Tel Aviv, & said it "operates in accordance with the instructions of the Israeli security forces."

How to get out of Israel

U.S. citizens in Israel "should follow local government advice to increase their security awareness and remain safe," the State Department said. Citizens who need assistance should fill out the crisis intake form to contact their nearest U.S. embassy or consulate

"U.S. citizens who wish to leave and can do so safely are advised to check the status of the border crossings or verify flights have not been canceled before heading to the Ben Gurion Airport," the department said.
