Welcome Traveller,

Good Morning & Happy Friday,
Back in the Great Depression, when prohibition left a winery high and dry, Lupin Lodge swooped in like a nudist superhero, taking over the forested Santa Cruz Mountains site. Now, after nearly nine decades of water volleyball, redwood hikes in the buff, & yoga sessions in the altogether, this clothing-optional haven is on the market for a whopping $32.8 million. Will the new owner keep the nudist legacy alive, or are we about to see Silicon Valley's first-ever tech campus with a dress code optional policy?

🗺️ Today we Embark on a solo odyssey where endless dunes, reaching temperatures of 56.7°C (134°F), set the stage for your adventures.

Strikes For Italy, Spain & Germany In Nov. Changes Travel Plans..

Paradise Calling Content Break

"Grab your passport and a sense of adventure, because this November, Italy, Spain, and Germany are turning into the unexpected hotspots for a travel experience that's part strike, part surprise party! This includes airports, public transports & trains. read to find out more

Italy

After Milan faced a public transport strike on 10 November, central Italy is set to face travel chaos on 17 November.

Trains and other public transport could be disrupted in Lazio (including Rome), Marches, Tuscany and Umbria as workers from various unions stage a walkout. They are protesting over pay and plans to privatise the sector.

Spain

Alicante-Elche airport is facing strikes by private security staff later this month. Employees of Ilunion Seguridad plan to strike on specific dates:

November 14, 17-19, 21, 24-26, and 28; December 1-10, 12, 15-17, 19, and 22-31; as well as January 1-14. The strikes are in protest of working conditions and pay.

Germany

The German Train Drivers’ Union (GDL) might go on strike during Christmas, potentially impacting long-distance trains. They're in a prolonged disagreement with Deutsche Bahn, the train operator, about pay. Negotiations resumed on November 9.

Although Deutsche Bahn proposed a 14-day 'peace agreement' for Christmas, they've prepared an emergency timetable because the strike threat persists.

Updates

1. Iceland on Friday declared a ‘state of emergency’, the country faces a potential volcanic eruption following a staggering 800 earthquakes in just 14 hours. It ordered a complete evacuation for the fishing town Grindavik, home to 3,000 residents. The Icelandic Meteorological Office warns that an eruption could happen "within a few days,”. Know how it will affect travel.

2. Lyft is putting their money where their wheels are - “We’re so confident that we can get you there on time that if we’re more than ten minutes late for your scheduled pick-up, we’ll give you up to $100 in Lyft credits to make up for it — even if you take an Uber.” promises David Risher, Lyft’s CEO. Even they're fashionably late, you'll at least have Lyft credits to Uber your feelings about it.

3. Disney World is thinking of banning third-party tour guides, hired by disabled people. Turns out, some of these guides got a not-so-magical "trespass notices" & a 1 way ticket out of the park for misusing their wizardry.

Attractions Things to do, see,

🏎️ FAST & FURIOUS -
Get ready to rev those engines and roll the dice because after a 40-year hiatus, Formula 1 is hitting the Las Vegas strip. Picture this: 20 daring drivers, 50 heart-pounding laps, and a 3.8-mile street circuit that weaves through the dazzling cityscape, complete with 17 twists and turns around the new MSG Sphere. “Vegas is going to be the biggest sporting event on the planet this year. I mean, it’s going to be insane, that race,” says Christian Horner, team principal of series champion Red Bull Racing. “I’ve never seen interest in a Grand Prix like this one.”
Mark your calendars - next Saturday at 10 p.m.

🔥 & A TEMPLE OF FIRE ? -
If you take a 3-5 hours roadtrip with your friends across Azerbaijan, north to south. You’ll go across 11 different climate zones & just as many different, stunning landscapes. “In the south, you have a subtropical climate & these fairytale villages with a permanent mist, moss-covered stones, waterfalls, small rivers, & lots of traditional homes,” Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), tells Euronews.
Then you move through these semi-desert, moon-like landscapes with a lot of mud volcanoes. Halfway you have Baku & the Caspian Sea and then you go up the mountains, 4,000 feet (1220 metres) & more.
You can’t leave Azerbaijan without a visit to its famous mud volcanoes and fire temples - the only traces of the country’s Zoroastrian history - forever burning on top of natural gas fields.

👀 SPOTLIGHT ON THE SEAS -
Royal Caribbean spills the tea on their new cruise sensation, the Icon of the Seas. A lineup so epic, even the dolphins might RSVP. In the all-new AquaDome, "Aqua Action!" is set to blow minds with Olympic-level high divers, skateboarders, aerialists, slackliners, & synchronized swimmers. And if that's not enough, "The Wizard of Oz" characters are taking flight above the audience in a revolutionary set with never-before-seen effects, 600 costume elements, and an original score performed by a 16-piece orchestra. This cruise isn't just a trip; it's a show-stopper, so
Mark your calendars at sea in January 2024.

Over 200 Excellent Tripadvisor Reviews | See 360 degree video

Ever wondered about a place that's not just a desert but a colossal sea of sand spanning over 9.2 million square kilometers? Picture this: from sandboarding down colossal dunes to sipping tea with nomads under a blanket of stars. The Sahara isn't just a desert; it's a playground of wonders waiting for you to discover. Ready to dive into the thrill?

🐪 Embark on a Camel Trek: Saddle up and let your trusty camel guide you through the mesmerizing dunes of the Sahara. The rhythmic swaying might just be the most soothing ride of your life.

🏄 Sandboarding on Dunes: Grab a board, find a towering sand dune, and get ready for an adrenaline rush as you surf down the sandy slopes. It's like snowboarding, but with a lot more warmth!

🏜️ Visit a Desert Oasis: Discover hidden gems amidst the vast sea of sand. Desert oases, like Fachi or Timia, offer a refreshing break with palm trees, cool water, and a stark contrast to the arid surroundings.

🎈 Hot Air Balloon Ride: Get a bird's eye view of the Sahara by taking a hot air balloon ride. Soar above the dunes and witness the sun painting the desert in hues you never thought possible.

🫖 Nomadic Tea Experience: Connect with the locals and share stories over a cup of traditional mint tea. It's not just about the beverage; it's about the hospitality and the warmth of the desert community.

🚲 Quad Biking Adventures: If you're a thrill-seeker, rev up a quad bike and zip through the desert. Feel the wind in your hair as you navigate the challenging terrain.

🦴 Explore Ancient Ruins: Uncover the mysteries of the Sahara by exploring ancient ruins like the city of Ghadames or the rock engravings at Tassili n'Ajjer. It's like stepping back in time against the timeless backdrop of the desert.

🚗 Take a 4x4 Desert Safari: For an adrenaline rush, hop on a 4x4 and navigate the challenging terrain of the Sahara. It's a thrilling way to explore the vastness of the desert beyond the beaten paths.

Here are 2 other destinations that complement your Sahara experience:

Embark on a journey where rugged peaks meet traditional Berber villages, offering a refreshing escape from the desert heat. • Todra Gorge, Morocco:

For a touch of enchantment, head to Todra Gorge, an impressive canyon with sheer rock walls reaching up to 300 meters. Marvel at the narrow passageways carved by the Todra River over millennia. It's a surreal experience, a natural wonder that stands in stark contrast to the expansive sands of the Sahara.

Recent Review - Sahara Desert Travel was such a good travel agency to book with. They were very kind, patient, and attentive. We had the best trip, could not asked for better activities, guides, and enjoyed all of the hotels. It was the best trip ever and already recommended Sahara Desert Travel to family and friends!!!

EASE YOUR TRAVELS

Beating the heat

💧 Hydration, because obviously, the Sahara isn't known for its refreshing water parks. Bring more water than you think you need, unless you have a sudden urge to audition for the next installment of "Survivor: Sahara Edition.”

🧴 Sunscreen because turning into a human lobster isn't a great vacation look. Sahara's sun is like a relentless personal space invader; protect your precious epidermis unless you're auditioning for the role of "Extra Crispy" in a desert-themed cooking show.

🧕 The Wet Bandana Illusion Tie a wet bandana around your neck and feel the illusion of a refreshing breeze. Just don't be surprised if your bandana becomes drier than a stand-up comedy show in the Sahara by midday.

🧊 Ice, Ice (Not) Baby Forget about dreaming of a white Christmas; dream of a frozen water bottle. Keep those babies icy until they inevitably turn into lukewarm puddles. It's the closest thing to an oasis you'll get.
