The Double Decker Seats Of The Future

The Chaise Longue has came up with double-decker airplane seat concept

Designed by Alejandro Núñez Vicente, a 23-year-old airplane seat designer.

The design features two levels of seats,

1. A ladder-like structure to access the top level.

2. The lower level which allows travelers to stretch out their legs on a footstool in front of them.

The Chaise Longue is envisioned to be in the center of an airplane cabin, flanked by two rows of regular airplane seating.

So what does this achieve ? 

The Chaise Longue double-decker airplane seat is made to save space and fit more passengers.

The concept was initially a college project for Núñez Vicente, but it has since gained attention and sponsorship. The designer believes that double-level seating is the future of economy flying and is working to make it a reality.

Núñez Vicente thinks the double-level structure could ultimately be adapted to any airplane cabin class. He has released renderings of a premium economy version of the Chaise Longue, which is more or less the same concept, just without the lower middle seat.

But not everyone is happy with it, the design has been met with mixed reactions, with some people intrigued and others outraged. Some believe that it could revolutionize budget air travel, while others find the design claustrophobic due to the other level of seats being directly above them. While some even meming about passing gas onto the one directly below them.

• “To be honest, there’s no such thing as bad publicity,” says the 23-yr-old airplane seat designer Alejandro Núñez Vicente.

And the best part is, the designer is open to constructive feedback and is working to adapt the design to every single feedback he gets.

• “We do try to adapt to every single constructive feedback that we get,” he says. “That’s how we move forward.”

Shark Attack at Egypt Rea Sea Resorts

The Environment Ministry there revealed that a Russian man was tragically killed by a tiger shark near Hurghada. Following the incident, authorities have closed off the 74-km stretch of the coastline until Sunday.

A video of it went viral if you want to watch. It shows a man fighting for his life as a shark viciously circles and attacks him before dragging him underwater.

4 children were rescued after surviving for 40 days in the Amazon jungle after their plane crashed. The mother of the children, survived for 4 days after the plane crash, and she told her children to leave and find help as she lay dying.

A Recent Review - “Notre-Dame Basilica is in the heart of Old Montreal. It's a must to visit. (Bonus if you catch a walking-tour of Old Montreal after visiting the Basilica.)
HIGHLY recommend purchasing tickets prior to arrival. You avoid the ticket line by entering near the exit line. Look for the signs because we almost stood in the ticket line waiting to get in. The Basilica itself is awe-inspiring. Take your time. An information guide is emailed upon your ticket purchase, if you don't want to spend $5 for a paper guide. Take pictures, sit, stand, walk around.
There's public restrooms. Side streets have little shops and ice cream shop as a treat for afterwards. The area in front is great for sitting, people watching, listening to the street musicians.”

Kung-Fu Fighting Sharks

Although the relative risk of being attacked by a shark is very small, (1 in 4 million chance) you never know if YOU could be the one.

So, what can you do to reduce your risk of a shark attack ? 

1. 🤺 Firstly, if a shark does attack, the best strategy is to hit it on the tip of its nose or aim for vulnerable spots like its gills, eyes. If you’re not the fighting type,

2. ✔️ Swimming in groups is recommended as sharks are more likely to target solitary individuals, and minimizing excessive splashing reduces the likelihood of attracting their attention, as sudden movements and noises can resemble struggling prey. Also,

3. ❌ At night time visibility is limited, increasing the risk of encountering potential dangers, so avoid the night swims. If you must swim, staying close to the shore reduces the chances of venturing into deeper waters where marine wildlife, including sharks, may be more active. Finally,

4. 🤕 Avoid swimming if you have a wound - Open wounds can release blood and bodily fluids into the water, which may attract sharks, as they are highly sensitive to the scent of blood and can interpret it as a potential food source.
