Which U.S. Cities Have Largest Increase In Fares in 2023 ?

In 2023, If you’re from the U.S. & want to book a domestic flight be prepared to pay more.

CheapAir.com, analysed data from 128 million fares for 74 cities across the United States.

1. an increase of airfare ranging from 10% to 35% across all cities

2. It seems that larger cities are witnessing relatively modest increases in airfares,

3. whereas those residing in smaller cities are facing considerably steeper price hikes.

Why do smaller flight markets show larger airfare increases?

Smaller airports have fewer flight options compared to larger cities, and airlines are facing challenges in meeting the overall demand. In some cases, smaller markets have experienced reduced flight schedules that have not yet returned to pre-pandemic levels.

When the number of available flights is limited, airfares can increase due to basic supply and demand dynamics.
