Like Moth to a Flame, Tourists Head Towards Heatwave Destinations..

Paradise Calling Content Break

AP

The southern United States is about to feel like a giant barbecue party.
The National Weather Service (NWS) send out a sizzling alert, warning a staggering 80 million Americans that they'll be cooking like BBQ under temperatures of 41 degrees Celsius and beyond this weekend.

So if you see tourists with portable fans, its a trend.

Hot or Not ? - Tourists are swarming to this scorching hotspot of Death Valley National Park, straddling the California-Nevada border, not for breathtaking landscapes, but to strike a pose with a temperature display outside the visitor center.

It's very hot, said Alessia Dempster, who was visiting from Edinburgh, Scotland.
I mean, especially when there's a breeze, you would think that maybe that would give you some slight relief from the heat, but it just really does feel like an air blow dryer just going back in your face.

  • Death Valley in California is sizzling at a jaw-dropping 56.60 Celsius, & believe it or not, tourists are flocking there like moths to a flame.

  • In another corner of the world, thrill-seekers in Xinjiang, China, are testing their limits with scorching surface temperatures of 800 Celsius & air temperatures soaring past 500 Celsius!

  • In Europe, it's beach time, but not exactly sunbathing weather. Tourists braved the sizzling temperatures in Italy, Spain, & Greece, where the governments were warning them to stay indoors to avoid the potentially life-threatening heat.

  • Greece & Sicily have been battling with wildfires which we’ve mentioned below..

How Long ? - Although heatwaves might continue, we’re not sure about how long followers of this trend, would keep up & bear the heat for social clicks.

What do you think about it ?

📍 Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort,
Saariselkä, 🇫🇮 Finland
Over 800 Excellent Tripadvisor Reviews | See 360 degree video

Picture yourself staying in those iconic glass igloos. Imagine lying comfortably in bed while gazing at the breathtaking northern lights dancing across the Arctic sky. It's like sleeping under a natural light show - a true bucket-list moment!

One of the main attractions of the resort is its iconic glass igloos. These cozy, heated accommodations provide you with unobstructed views of the northern lights during the winter months. But, apart from the glass igloos, the resort also offers you traditional log cabins, snow igloos, & even a luxurious Queen Suite, giving you a range of accommodation options to choose from.

Year-Round Experience: While the northern lights are a major draw, the resort offers a year-round experience with plenty of activities available during both winter and summer, catering to different interests and preferences, such as..

🌌 Aurora Hunting: Of course, this tops the list! Grab a hot drink, snuggle up in your glass igloo, and keep your eyes peeled for the mesmerizing dance of the northern lights in the Arctic sky.

🛷 Husky Sledding: Feel the rush of adrenaline as you mush your way through the snowy trails, guided by a team of adorable and energetic huskies. It's an experience you won't forget!

🎅 Visit Santa's Home: Yes, you read that right! Pay a visit to Santa Claus himself at his nearby village in Rovaniemi. Embrace your inner child and get into the Christmas spirit all year round.

🎣 Ice Fishing: Ever tried fishing on ice? Now's your chance! Test your skills and patience while ice fishing in the icy waters, and who knows, you might catch dinner!

🗿 Ice Sculpting: Get creative with ice! Join an ice sculpting workshop & try your hand at creating your icy masterpiece.

🏊 Ice Swimming: Want to test your bravery? Take a dip in the ice-cold waters of a frozen lake. It's invigorating, to say the least!

♨️ Arctic Sauna: Treat yourself to the authentic Finnish sauna experience. After a day of adventures, relax in the warmth and let the heat soothe your muscles.

Here are two other destinations that complement the Arctic experience:

  • Helsinki, Finland: Explore the city's blend of modern architecture and rich history. Visit iconic landmarks like the Helsinki Cathedral, Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, & the Temppeliaukio Church (Rock Church). Enjoy the lively atmosphere at the Market Square, where you can try some delicious Finnish street food and shop for local crafts.

  •  Tromsø, Norway: Often called the "Gateway to the Arctic," This Norwegian city is known for its stunning fjords & vibrant Northern Lights displays. Explore the Arctic Cathedral, with its unique triangular design, & take a cable car ride up Mount Storsteinen for panoramic views of the city & surrounding landscapes.

Your itinerary could look something like this:

✔️ Day 1-2: Helsinki, Finland (City exploration, local experiences)

✔️ Day 3-6: Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort (Northern Lights, husky sledding, ice fishing, etc.)
