These Countries Offer The Best Passports For Digital Nomads

So what’s special - Unlike the Henley Passport Index which ranks the world’s most powerful passports & uses International Air Transport Association data, the Nomad Passport Index (NPI) takes a different approach.

They look at 199 global passports and how they fare in terms of visa-free travel, global perception and taxation of citizens. The ranking also focuses on dual citizenship and personal freedom.

Top 10

It’s good news for much of Europe, with 8 of the continent’s nations claiming spots in the top 10.

1. Switzerland came in first, with Ireland & Portugal following close behind in second and third places respectively.

2. Luxembourg & Finland came next, followed by the United Arab Emirates.

3. Then the Netherlands, Norway and Germany with New Zealand rounding out the list.

Outside of the top 10, the NPI says Bulgaria is one to watch for future rankings.

European countries, starting with Iceland, Italy & Greece, also make up numbers 11 to 26 on the list, with only Singapore pipping others to the 27th position.

Bottom Up

At the other end of the spectrum, the bottom-ranking nations out of the 199 citizenships were much the same as those on Henley’s passport index.

Afghanistan came in last, followed by nearby Iraq, Yemen & Eritrea.

The Cherry Blossoms aren’t here to stay, & if you plan right you can get good memories & some pics for your socials with your loved ones.
The predicted peak time in D.C. is March 23-26, as per National Park Service’s Bloom Watch. You can stroll along the Tidal Basin during the National Cherry Blossom Festival, held from March 20-April 14 in Washington.
If you’re planning for a Japan Trip with a loved one, the peak currently predicted for Kochi is around March 27. In Tokyo, expect a peak around March 29. Good news for late-comers: Way up in wintry Sapporo, the peak isn’t expected until May 4.

A 2.5-million-acre area of southeastern Oregon (approximately one-half the size of New Jersey) was certified as an International Dark Sky Sanctuary today by DarkSky International, making it the world’s largest Dark Sky Sanctuary to date. The Sanctuary, has committed to protect its starry night skies for the benefit of visitors, residents, and wildlife.
